I recently asked about a few individual titles out of curiosity and they said they DO NOT have the dubs for TO KILL A MASTERMIND--KING EAGLE or THE GAMBLING SYNDICATE. when I asked about TRILOGY OF SWORDSMANSHIP i got no answer. a lot of these dubs have already showed up in Africa and on the el rey network and I expect the rest will show up eventually. I for one am still holding out hope that there will be a few more surprise dubs along the way because there are other rumored dubs that are not on the list such as JUDGEMENT OF AN ASSASSIN--THE EUNUCH etc. also I am positive that a dub exist for TRILOGY OF SWORDSMANSHIP because there was once a full screen vhs to dvd-r copy for sale. I,m surprised that nobody from here actually got a copy( I believe it was available for a short time about 12 or 15 years ago ). any way I think we have a lot to be thankful for as over the last few years quite a number of lost dubs have shown up --OPIUM AND THE KUNG FU MASTER--DEADLY BREAKING SWORD--HAVE SWORD WILL TRAVEL etc. gotta keep a positive outlook. In case anyone is wondering, all films shown today on El Rey were in Chinese with subs (including Lady Assassin and Lady is the Boss). Member bobo Posted April 2, 2015 Member Share Posted April 2, 2015 THE DEADLY KNIVES is also being shown on Friday the 3rd at 12 noon. also on thurs 9th at 3:30 pm and on Friday the 10th at 2 pm. i'm positive that the English dub is included. on sunday the 12th THE FLYING DAGGER is on at 12:15 pm and 6:15 pm, also with English dub. Member bobostilllives Posted November 6, 2015 Member Share Posted November 6, 2015 there has been no note worthy different shaws on el rey for quite some time now. when they first announced that they were going to show a lot of shaw brothers movies, they said they had access to 260 titles. seems to me they have not shown 260 different movies yet-- lots of repeat broadcasting. I wonder why they are not moving on with some other titles ? I know for a fact that they still have a number of English dubbed titles that they have not broadcast yet. just have to wait and see. I notice that the dub version will be on el rey on march 5th at 12 pm (noon ). apparently the dub version been on el rey at least 20 times so far but nobody seems to have recorded it. if I could get the el rey here I would do it but nobody carries that channel here. so far as I can tell the only person claiming to have a copy is the flashlegs site. Murder plot was SD, but the silver fox was HD and had the new celestial opening so I suspect this is one that was recently upgraded to HD, I don't think it was on the original list of HD movies. Member Chemical Lemon Posted June 10, 2017 Member Share Posted June 10, 2017 Random thing I wanted to mention. I watched "The Thundering Sword" on El Rey last night. Think this is the first time it's played. Brand new HD scan with the newer Celestial logo. BUT..... this has one of the worst remixed soundtracks I've heard in a long while. There was a period during the IVL dvds when someone thought it was a really good idea to layer horrible horrible new out of tune music on top of the existing soundtrack. I forget which movies these were, but apparently The Thundering Sword was one of them. I've always wondered if this was somehow an attempt to get around some sort of copyrighted music, but I suspect it was just really bad judgement. As they've recently upgraded the SD scan, I assume they intend to put these out on streaming services and possibly blu ray.
