Member Superfly Posted February 19, 2014 Member Share Posted February 19, 2014 Kind of surprised no one has talked about this wonderful movie yet. Well there is no Kung Fu in it so maybe not. This Erotic Thriller blew me away. Very complex which is something I appreciate. Make me think. This it did. The story of a young girl thrust by circumstance into forcibly becoming a concubine for the king. She winds up giving birth and becomes Queen. Afterwards we are witness to murder, betrayal and political machinations. In the end who will be left standing is anyone's guess. There are plenty of Erotic Sex scenes. Featuring the absolutely stunning female lead. But this no Cat3 style film. I watched this on Blu-Ray and can't see how it can be seen any other way. Exquisitely shot with a great score to accompany. I really have nothing to say bad about this. I did worry as maybe some of you that this may move too slowly and drag. Nothing could be further from the case. Well paced for the type of story being told. This is the kind of film you can watch with your wife or Girlfriend and show her how good Asian Cinema can be. Highly recommended. The sex and boobies are what peaked people's interest in the movie. It did good at the Korean box office. If you like period pieces with twist and turns. Check out The Face Reader. The story was not bad, and the acting was good. Lee Jung Jae (The Thieves, Brand New World) plays the villain. Never seen him play a truly evil character until now. Song Gang Ho (Sympathy for Mr Vengeance) is also one of the stars. Everyone is cloths and no boobs to be seen. My friend's sister didn't like the movie. Plenty of twists, wonderful performance (as usual) from Park Ji Yeong and Jo Yeo Jeong looked absolutely gorgeous.in it. I thought Frozen Flower was really good too. Will look up Face Reader. As for this film. Coming in I had no idea about the sex and nudity. While she is beautiful that wasnt why I watched it. If I want porn I'll watch porn.
