'Nausicaa' Sequel Could Happen

In 1984, Hayao Miyazaki directed the beloved animated film, NAUSICAA OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, which led to him forming Studio Ghibli.

One of the animators who had worked on this film with the legendary Miyazaki was Hideaki Anno, who is responsible for the creation of the hit series NEON GENESIS EVANGELION under his own company, Gainax.

Anno has been saying for years he wants to do a follow-up to NAUSICAA with Miyazaki, but Miyazaki himself had little interest in doing it. Big news recently arrived in a TV interview.

"No, I don’t. I don’t really feel like doing it, but Anno keeps on saying, ‘I want to do it! I want to do it!,’ so I tell him now that I’ve come to think lately that if he wanted to do it, it would be fine for him to do it."

So even if Miyazaki doesn't want to do it, he is going to give Anno permission to do a sequel under his Gainax banner. Interesting animated feature news!!!
