Member Coliseum1972 Posted July 15, 2013 Member Share Posted July 15, 2013 15th : 1st day shooting TX Chainsaw , temp was 35-40 celsius so you can imagine the "fun" they had filming the indoor scenes , body odor etc One day they filmed 26 hrs straight , not exactly Hwood glamour. 19th : Hapkido banned by Statens Filmtilsyn (Norways BBFC , they banned every kung fu and many horror films as well : TX Chainsaw , Maniac etc.......then later kung fu banned on VHS , too) (20th : prince Haakon of Norway was born)
Member Secret Executioner Posted July 15, 2013 Member Share Posted July 15, 2013 Norway seemed very conservative at this time, wasn't it ? I'm fine with the rating system (which followed the Hayes code in the US) despite people cutting off movies' balls to have a lower rating but banning plain and simple is kinda extreme, even for movies like TXCM and it's really too harsh for martial arts movies. I can't imagine what would happen to movies like Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange or Umberto Lenzi's Cannibal Ferox...
Member Coliseum1972 Posted July 16, 2013 Author Member Share Posted July 16, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lgj6gR-Kbt0 Chainsaw was the epithome of evil in 1980 in Norway/Sweden , they also had the silly video nasties (funny how the reporter in the school yard claims every kid had seen TCM , putting words in their mouths lol) Censorship is stupid , it's like saying for example "Picasso is garbage , let's ban it !"
