Member odioustrident Posted March 13, 2013 Member Share Posted March 13, 2013 These are all fights between well developed characters with some plot point hanging on the outcome; I was hoping for more fights that highlight specific character traits with the mechanics of the action... but that's a a tall order. The basic template for that Crouching Tiger scene had been done many times before, but it was definitely a good one. One great thing about many MA films is that more character development can occur in the choreography than in the plot itself. At the best of times, plot and action might accent each other perfectly when building up the heroes, villains and whomever in-between. I feel like SPL has some good examples of both types of balance.
