Member xianzai Posted February 10, 2013 Member Share Posted February 10, 2013 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Cubs_%28TV_series%29 "The drama follows a fictional team of elite paramilitary officers from the Special Duties Unit of the Hong Kong police force. They specialise in counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, and crimes that are deemed too dangerous for regular police to handle. The unit works closely with the Organised Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) to crack down on terrorist groups." This is a pretty good TV series for those who like SDU action. While there is an overall story arc, the episodes have self-contained plots involving action. There are also some good training sequences. Interestingly, the lead Joe Ma was in the elite G4 before becoming an actor. As far as downsides, there's one weirdly-written recurring character, the series suffers from what I'm starting to call "HK TV police drama optimism", and a couple of the episode plots/characters aren't very good. Overall I enjoyed it quite a bit and view it as a fine addition to my HK SDU collection. Supposedly there will be a sequel series. FWIW, in the series there's a vehicle with a weird thing on its bonnet; it's part of an armored engine bay: http://www.jankel.com/products/product-details.cfm?pID=
