Member waywardsage Posted January 29, 2013 Member Share Posted January 29, 2013 So what's the story behind the DVD release of Misumi's "The Last Samurai" DVD release from Neptune Media? http://www.amazon.com/The-Last-Samurai-Hideki-Takahashi/dp/B0080WPADW/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1359418653&sr=8-6&keywords=the+last+samurai It was listed as being released for YEARS but only got released last year. It's also insanely expensive for a catalog DVD: $30 on Amazon USA at the moment. Why has Neptune Media only released this one DVD and why is it still crazy expensive on Amazon compared to all other catalog releases? Does anyone have a copy? Is it worth it at this price? Member Vegeta84 Posted January 29, 2013 Member Share Posted January 29, 2013 I'm guessing it's expensive as this is what Neptune has to sell it for in hopes of making a profit. It's a great film and the picture quality is also great. It really just depends how much you want to own it? It's also Kenji Misumi's final film and it feels like he put his heart into it.
