Member AlbertV Posted November 28, 2012 Member Share Posted November 28, 2012 IndieWire.com: Charlize Theron is set to star in and produce "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" through her Denver & Delilah Films banner. CJ Entertainment and Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures are also producing. Screenwriter William Monahan ("The Departed," "The Gambler") will adapt the script from Park Chan-wook's final installment of his revenge trilogy. The story centers on a woman who completes a prison term for a murder she is not guilty of before punishing the true killer and avenging the those slain. Monahan states, “This will be very American – and very unexpected." He adds that "Park is a genius; it’s the Everest of adaptations and I've got blood in my teeth to do it.” Chan-wook's South Korean trilogy began with "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" in 2002, followed by "Oldboy" in 2003 (which has also been remade by Spike Lee for a 2013 release) and "Lady Vengeance" (2005). Ellison and Annapurna will finance, with Panorama Media handling international sales.

I'm very curious to know how they'll depict the incest issue as India got there first with their own version of Oldboy titled " Zinda " http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0488906/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinda_(film) - search within Wikipedia for more details - meaning " life " " alive " or " to live " but they could not handle that particular issue. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=zinda&hl=en&tbo=u&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=Q77JUNySM7K10QXE-YCoDg&ved=0CEwQsAQ&biw=1205&bih=
