Member Omni Dragon Posted November 1, 2012 Member Share Posted November 1, 2012 I noticed Toby Russell talks about Chin Yuet-Sang at 4:08: UrWpTYQp7xE Toby say that Chin Yuet-Sang & Brandy Yuen skilful better than Yuen Biao & Jackie. I never realised this myself I saw Chin Yuet-Sang as one of the background stunt guy's he's one of the stuntmen you know the face more than the name. Also a lot of other interesting info in that video really worth a listen.
Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted November 1, 2012 Member Share Posted November 1, 2012 With all due respect to Toby, that's his opinion. You don't necessarily have to agree.
Member AbeRudder Posted November 1, 2012 Member Share Posted November 1, 2012 I don't think he was necessarily saying that chin yuet sang was better but pointing out that a lot of people in the industry rated him higher than yuen biao. Their opinions are probably based off a lot of off film stuff too. From what ive seen on film id say 1.brandy 2. yb. 3.cys. 4. jackie. Jackie's physical skills weren't on the level as some of the other opera guys, his genius lied in his choreography in my opinion.
Member Morgoth Bauglir Posted November 1, 2012 Member Share Posted November 1, 2012 For oldschool fighting they're pretty even. For stunts and acrobatics I think CYS can do anything YB can do, but YB does it better. YB is faster and more springy.
