This is the separately titled second season of the 1973 Shintaro reboot. It appears to be the Baywatch Nights of Japan, as the crew directed the series towards some outright fantasy that borders on tokusatsu. Villains were a weekly (?) collection of ninja (in assorted masks) and garishly dressed bad guys each with their own secret weapon. These include primitive tanks, Majin-style talking statues outfitted with guns, magnetically guided glider rockets and a robot clad in Western armor that shoots swords out of its chest! Maybe the Wild Wild West series is a better comparison. There are some awesome swordplay gimmicks as well.

Merlin is considering this show as a candidate for subbing. I'll be posting pictures and video in the hopes of seeing some interest and swaying his opinion .
