Member 66 Mantis Posted August 14, 2012 Member Share Posted August 14, 2012 Why is it that so many of the remastered Shaw discs feature 'silent fights' in the English dubs? It may seem like a minor quibble, but I got very used to hearing the yells and grunts on the old videos I copied off T.V. back in the '80s and really miss hearing them now. It's like a speaker went out whenever a battle starts. This doesn't happen on all of them, but a good many are like this. Why? Anybody know? Member spannick Posted August 14, 2012 Member Share Posted August 14, 2012 i only know one prime example, and that is EXECUTIONERS FROM SHAOLIN. it's embarassing to watch minute-long fights without ANY yells etc
Member 66 Mantis Posted August 14, 2012 Author Member Share Posted August 14, 2012 Executioners From Shaolin is one. Legendary Weapons of China is another. I heard that Tokyo Shock's 5 Elemnt Ninja does this too (I have a bootleg with the grunts included). Can't understand why this is...
Member Killer Meteor Posted August 15, 2012 Member Share Posted August 15, 2012 Never noticed this on a Shaw disc but the Cantonese tracks for Iron Fisted Monk seem to have this problem on the various dvds.
Member spannick Posted August 15, 2012 Member Share Posted August 15, 2012 ah yes, MONK is indeed such a problem case, too. was always since HK VHS, which came from a Theatrical Print.
