Member AlbertV Posted March 28, 2012 Member Share Posted March 28, 2012 Screen Gems is developing a reboot of CARRIE, originally a Stephen King novel that became a popular 1976 film by Brian De Palma. We all know the story: Carrie White is a bullied teen who is revealed to be telekinetic. There was even a made-for-TV mini-series in 2002 with Angela Bettis in the role of Carrie. Kim Peirce is directing this new version, which will be more faithful to the King novel rather than De Palma's version. As for the lead role, there were many tests, but an offer has gone out to Chloe Moretz, best known for her roles in KICK-ASS and another remake, LET ME IN. There were some differences. What made the film so good was the casting. Read the book, it's really good. You can blow through it in a day. Take you about.....4 hours.
