Member Iron_Leopard Posted February 17, 2012 Member Share Posted February 17, 2012 Two questions actually. Which actors from Shaolin Temple reprise their role from Five Shaolin Masters? And is Men from the Monastery a remake or sequel to Heroes Two?
Member Mark Pollard Posted February 17, 2012 Member Share Posted February 17, 2012 The only actors I know of to play the same roles in both films are Ti Lung and David Chiang. Fu Sheng and Chi Kuan-chun played different characters. MEN FROM THE MONASTERY depicts events that take place before and after the events shown in HEROES TWO so I would say it's not a sequel or remake but related. If any film in Chang Cheh's Shaolin Cycle was a remake it's THE SHAOLIN AVENGERS which expands on the same origin story of Fong Sai-yuk that was depicted in MEN FROM THE MONASTERY. Member Iron_Leopard Posted February 17, 2012 Author Member Share Posted February 17, 2012 Thanks for the replies. Although I do remember Ma Fu Yi being the same actor. Its also weird how Chi Kuan Chun is playing a different character even though we see him learn all the animal styles he does in Five Shaolin Masters also.
