All the obvious ones have been mentioned. I really liked him in Shanghai, Shanghai, and the movie as a whole. Not perfect, but entertaining. Also a good performance in On The Run, though that film was severely let down by its ending!

Cool!!!! Thanks for that, RPS. Looks up my alley. I need to get this, "TB & SS", and LICENSE TO STEAL on dvd.

OAB is always looking for a modern actioner himself. Hopefully he'll see this post.

Ha ha, yeah I was right on it buddy! Looks like a good watch, definitely a classic Philippines low budget actioner...but to be honest after spending some time living there I kind of have a special soft spot for their modest efforts.

Yes I even give the Ko Fei / Yukari Oshima train wrecks a little love....

I love On The Run, what an unusual (in a good way) Hong Kong movie, but I'd agree that the ending featured on all the dvd versions I'm aware of sucks; the original much more interesting (& fitting) ending hasn't been seen as far as I know since the days of VHS. I used to have the Rainbow (if I remember correctly) vhs version in which Yuen Biao & the female lead (can't remember the actress' name, was she in anything else?) are basically smuggled out of Hong Kong by a doctor (not sure of all the details, been a long time since I've seen it) to begin a new life together. The original ending was so much better than that ridiculous apparently more politically correct "they both went to prison for their crimes..." crap on the current dvds, wish a special edition directors cut would be released on dvd or blu-ray!

I think the new French dvd has the original ending, but no English subs.

The actress is Pat Ha. She's been in a lot of films, I think.

Actually, by ending, I mean the scene with the badguys! The ridiculous overacting by Charlie Chin and Yuen Wah just destroys, in seconds, what was a pretty good movie up to that point!

Whatever happened after that.... I didn't care...

If Joy Sales is still active, we might see a release of this with subs and unaltered soundtrack.

I know I'm 3 and half years too late for this thread, but I feel compelled to add to it. Yuen Biao is my fave...

The list is of movies in which he stars or co-stars as a main character and not merely support role.

1)The Prodigal Son

2)Zu: Warriors from the magic mountain

3)On the run

4)Knockabout

5)Righting wrongs

6)Dragons forever

7)The Iceman Cometh

8)Dreadnaught

9)Eastern Condors

10)My Vampire 2

9)Kid from Tibet
