Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted August 14, 2012 Member Share Posted August 14, 2012 Damn, im excited about this! Know nothing about the directors, but that's a kickass cast, and the trailer looks good. Here's hoping.....
Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted August 14, 2012 Moderator Share Posted August 14, 2012 Aaron Kwok & action movies normally equals one of two things - either a fun 90 minutes ('2000AD', 'China Strike Force'), or cringe worthy disasters ('Divergence', 'City Under Siege'). He's got solid support from Andy Lau & Tony Leung Ka-Fai in this, so let's hope his outstanding displays of overacting are kept in check and we get a decent movie with this one. Bizarre poster art though -
Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted August 14, 2012 Member Share Posted August 14, 2012 Wondered about that poster too. Looks like an old Wu Tang cd cover from the late 90's.... And yes, Aaron Kwok is not a great thespian, but I don't think he equates a bad movie.

Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted August 14, 2012 Moderator Share Posted August 14, 2012 You guys should check out Throw Down, After This Out Exile and The Detective. Best acting performances he's done. Already have, I actually own all three of them on DVD, and there's no question when he's under the right director, Kwok actually turns in some good effecting performances. But for every 'Throw Down' there's a 'Future Cops', for every 'After This Our Exile' there's a 'Heat Team', & for every 'The Detective' there's a 'Murderer'. He's an actor who you can cringe at as much as you can admire, which I guess in itself makes his stuff worth a watch.

Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted October 18, 2015 Moderator Share Posted October 18, 2015 After releasing their latest movie 'Helios' as a Directors Cut on DVD only, directors Sunny Luk and Longman Leung have bizarrely decided to do the same thing with 'Cold War', 3 years after it came out. The Directors Cut will be hitting DVD on 28th October - http://www.yesasia.com/us/cold-war-2012-dvd-directors-cut-hong-kong-version/1045692951-0-0-0-en/info.html
