Member DiP Posted August 28, 2011 Member Share Posted August 28, 2011 We can all agree about this guy's acting skills. But at times however I get the feeling many rate him higher than everyone else in the Hong Kong acting circuit, including Chow Yun-Fat. Could someone give a shed of light as to why he's considered the best HK actor? Is it because of his work with Wong Kar-Wai or his looks? Or maybe his on-screen persona? Member mpm74 Posted August 28, 2011 Member Share Posted August 28, 2011 I prefer Lau Ching Wan to him any day. But I can see why Tony gets the most attention, both critically and visually. In addition to the good looks, he has the acting range. And you're right, I'm sure its the roles he picks too. He doesn't seem to waste his time appearing in BS. Guest Yi-Long
I agree Tony Leung is a brilliant actor. He can do so much with so little. I'm not a big fan of Chow Yun Fat's acting though. Personally, my favourite actor is/was Leslie Cheung. Just amazing performances.
Member Cognoscente Posted May 6, 2021 Member Share Posted May 6, 2021 It's sad that Tony has never been interviewed about John Woo's Bullet in the Head.
