Member teako170 Posted August 3, 2011 Member Share Posted August 3, 2011 The Yahoo news blurb got me pumped - thinking it was the elusive Mountain Eagle. Mountain Eagle? Think... Tiger Boy and you'll understand. It's the only feature Hitch directed that I don't have a copy of. Anyway, it wasn't that rare Hitch film (blast you Yahoo!) -- but still very cool news just the same for Hitch enthusiasts and film historians... http://news.yahoo.com/lost-hitchcock-film-found-zealand-071853969.html
Member masterofoneinchpunch Posted August 3, 2011 Member Share Posted August 3, 2011 Interesting, but not quite up there with a few of the lost films of John Ford found and of course footage from Metropolis. I have a few issues with the article easily showing an auteur bias even though Hitchcock was not the director of the film: "One of the earliest films made by British master director Alfred Hitchcock..." "The Hitchcock feature..." (and a few more) Though it is great that they found this, of course we wish they found all of the footage.
