Member Son Of A Gun Posted August 1, 2011 Member Share Posted August 1, 2011 This is the letter for sale I believe. It's to Taky Kimura from Bruce. Many thanks to "Will Johnston" for transcribing the letter so it's easier to read. March 25 1966 Taky; Received your registered letter. Thank you for your trouble. It is always nice to hear from you Taky. You Are The senior student, my top student. You are the most trusted one and your loyalty is beyond compared with anyone here or in Hong Kong. I'm looking forward for the T.V. Series of "Green Hornet" to come out so that Gung Fu will catch on. After that, you will be an important part of my institute plus being the Washington State representative of the Institute. I'm still working on the private lesson --- so far the prospective students are:- Steve McQueen, James Gardner, Donald Gordon, Lloyd Thaxton. Paul Newman, ----- these suckers don't like to be pushed in to it, so I have to abide by the right time. Oh yes, Vic Damone is pretty sure of taking, and so is Carroll Shelby, the Industrialist of Ford Racing car. The fees will be $25.00 an hour. Strictly private lessons --- Vic Damone is arranging a five man group for me in Las Vegas to teach ( the first hour is $50.00 an hour ). Vic is currently appearing in Sands and this sucker is yelling Gung Fu all over the place and Bill Jee to all his friends. By the way. I've bought a Chey II Nova 1966. Linda's Mother helped us put the downpayment she is really nice about the whole thing. As you know a car is indispensable, especially here in Los Angeles. currently, I'm taking acting lessons from a drama coach, a Mr Jeff Cory. This man is credited to be the best in the movie industry. I believe 20th Century fox is paying him like $70 an hour. I meet him for around three times a week. It's interesting because this cat is very Zen-ish. I have my script with me - the Green Hornet and one scene in which Britt ( the Green Hornet) turned to Kato and yelled "Gung Fu!!!" ---- of course Kato moves in and finishes the crooks. The apartment needs to be cleaned up yet -- of course there is the ironing --- and man like everything ----- I still remember the 8mm movie which I will shoot the first chance I have --- like the Tai Kik (Tae Che ); the techniques; and whatever you have in mind write me about it. I'm telling you! My old lady in Hong Kong is something else! I've just written here to rush her, to rush the wooden dummy. The reason is one of the sister of my father died recently, still, the dummy should be here long time ago! I mean like it was complete when I left Hong Kong and that was quite a time ago. Lucky you know me as well ---- some other person might think I didn't even order it. (over) At any rate drop me a line more often and let me know how things are. If you have any questions regarding Gung Fu - Technical or administrative - feel free to ask. Take good care of yourself Bruce p.s. If Tosh, Chris, or John likes to drop me a line, give them my address. When will Chris be coming down this way again!
