Still seems to be in stock. I have one other Thai Shaw release--Legend of the Fox. I don't recall there being any issues with it---Mandarin audio and English subs.

As collector I have to say thais are inferior.Covers not as nice, no slipcases and no extras on dvd.Have to stick with some as certain ivls very hard to get but I keep my eyes open if can upgrade my thai Uniteds.

I have legend of the fox as IVL and only venom movie I have not watched...I save it for special moment

Okay, I see where you're coming from. I'm not really a collector so much as just a Shaw movie buff, so as long as I have a remastered widescreen anamorphic picture, original language audio and English subs (and it's not a bootleg), then I don't pay attention to much of the other stuff.

That`s enough...collectors are their own race,I have sometimes wondered why the hell I pay €17 ivl when could get thai for €8....I did not come to any reasonable concluision:nerd:

well I'll tell you , part of it is how cool the IVLs look after you amass a large quantity of them. I have exactly 276 in my collection right now and nearly everyone who comes into my apartment walks over to the shelf with those DVDs and starts looking at them. Whoever decided to go with the bright rainbow colors was a genius ..

^^^ What he said.

Every since I started collecting these films I've been in love with the packaging, most with the slipcovers until they stopped.

My treasured are the One Armed Swordsman Trilogy Boxset with the Chang Cheh signature...

and King Boxer. I don't even understand my love for this film, with the exception that I believe it to be my 1st! Kung Fu film experience...

My 1st IVL I got hold of was 5 shaolin masters...before that had only seen it from greek videotape and it was missing last minute where people hooray for survivors.

This may sound silly but I was in kind of shocked when realized now I have in my hands best movie ever made and in proper presentation also.

I love everything in that,movie,sets,storyline,actors,music...

and gonna doubledip when r1 is released.

My 1st IVL I believe, was The Magic Blade, then The 36TH Chamber of Shaolin. Man, it was like drugs, I couldn't wait for the next release! I love the Shaw remastered library, it introduced me to titles I had never seen-let alone heard of.

(I still wish The KIller AKA Sacred Knives of Vengeance had gotten released.)

The Silver Fox

I was just in Toronto for a couple of days. There is one shop I always hit while I'm there, they are probably the only legit DVD store In the Dundas/Spadina area. I picked up:

The Delinquent w/slipcase-10.00

Swift Sword w/slipcase-10.00

Not bad! Delinquent is a great one and will for sure be high in demand once all copies have found homes.

Yeah, they had a bunch of others but I have the region 1 versions of quite a few of them, and others I just wasn't that into. Still, I felt tempted to buy a whole bunch just 'cause they're fetching such high prices. They have a lot of Fortune Star, Deltamac stuff and current releases as well, Japanese,Korean etc.

The bottom line is that I almost feel obligated to give this guy some business as he is surrounded by stores that are all bootleg, he even has a sign on the door saying 'authentic dvds' or something. He also has tons of VCD's for sale too, IVL Shaws 4 for 10.00, and all his IVL DVDs are 10.00 or 10.99.

Anyhow, if anybody goes to TO, you should check out Wa Yi Trading Co Ltd , 482B Dundas St, Toronto

I know, right?

But hey, good for Tony. Xploited was a great seller.

Looking at what was left in the inventory a couple of months ago, I'm worried they're surrounded by indie snuff-gore-porn and movie trailer compilations.

72 bucks for THE ENCHANTRESS means jackshit ! Two fanatics bidding each other into a frenzy, that’s all there is to it. Next time this'll change hands for a fraction of this amount….

I sold my Enchantress for $50. I wasn't expecting to see this auction go over $70 but I'd say it's easily worth $50+.

I'm not selling any of my Celestial IVL titles, not even the ones that I've barely viewed. These releases represent a bit of history to me, and a few titles I'd not previously had the pleasure-let alone, heard of.

Added some new items that have sold.

This one though takes the cake....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-SENTIMENTAL-SWORDSMAN-Region-3-tI-lUNG-Shaw-Brothers-IVL-HK-DVD-New-/360466602872?pt=UK_CDsDVDs_DVDs_DVDs_GL&hash=item53ed7bdb78

$56 for The Sentimental Swordsman?? Seems a bit pricey...

Hi Teako unless someone is buying these dvds for academic or research purposes it is really silly to buy them at such prices. The majority of the films can now be viewed on youtube ( full feature ) and Celestial seems cool with that. Some dics might be OOP but the movies themselves are not rare anymore which is a good thing. Therefore unless money is not an issue to individuals whose credit cards are burning holes in their pockets US$ 20.00 should be the limit people should pay for the Celestial IVL dvds.

You're absolutely right Kwok. I paid $11/12 a disc for the IVL (HK) when they came out. Even $20 seems high but ... my thinking as to why such prices are being paid is, as you mentioned, because the disc themselves is OOP. Its the same principle why folks pay a higher price for a first-edition book vs a reprint. Even though its the same material, some collectors prefer to own the original.
