Member mpm74 Posted July 3, 2011 Member Share Posted July 3, 2011 Hard to say. I bet it's a misprint, as many of these movies haven't seen anamorphic releases. As far as the dvd being "legit" and not a bootleg of whatever, again, hard to say. It looks pretty good to me. But a lot of these "boots" look good these days. Even some of these new sets fail to have anamorphic prints: http://www.cityonfire.com/chuck-norris-dvd-set-delta-force-delta-force-2-missing-in-action-missing-in-action-2-missing-in-action-3-image/ Spec info: http://www.image-entertainment.com/film.asp?ProjectID={AFBE81CD-B5B4-4DEC-D9F1-1F7168F5CD08}&BusinessUnitID={86E09B33-2863-432E-AFFA-D34EA992FEDF}&ProductID={A58E9DCF-3436-4D39-A1E4-9EFF000944BC} http://www.image-entertainment.com/film.asp?ProjectID={142B21DF-3E78-4EB9-B303-8EE5E74A8125}&BusinessUnitID={86E09B33-2863-432E-AFFA-D34EA992FEDF}&ProductID={DC25AF44-1929-4511-BCFD-9EBF0006CC2A} However, Delta Force/Delta Force 2 are listed as anamorphic... http://www.cityonfire.com/the-delta-forcethe-delta-force-2-dvd-set-image/ Spec info: http://www.image-entertainment.com/film.asp?ProjectID={EB0E0384-3830-4B75-B38F-716D936284DD}&BusinessUnitID={86E09B33-2863-432E-AFFA-D34EA992FEDF}&ProductID={203D8C85-497D-4B2B-8F2A-9EBF0006CC2A}
Guest Markgway
It's impossible to trust anything these days. No one can seem to agree on what's what. That MGM disc (of Braddock) looks legit and came out in 2009 (much later than all the old LTBX/open matte releases). I wonder if anyone reading this forum has the disc and can comment... or are there any users from Portugal who can offer some definite info? Delta Force and Missing in Action 2 are available 16:9 and uncut from the UK. Delta Force 2 is also 16:9 but is a slightly cut version. The European releases (MGM) are 16:9 and uncut. Missing in Action is LTBX'd everywhere; Braddock open matte everywhere (except perhaps Portugal?)
Guest Markgway
Found this listing at Amazon for the Italian DVD from MGM. http://www.amazon.com/Braddock-Missing-Action-Aki-Aleong/dp/B0044JV1K6/ref=sr_1_10?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1309710792&sr=1-10 Specs claim widescreen. Member spannick Posted July 3, 2011 Member Share Posted July 3, 2011 there's a HDTV Version around from MGM. beware of the Dutch Bootleg by Dutch Filmworks, which is just the US Version masked off to fake 16x9 and horribly NTSC-PAL converted. Guest Markgway
Good to know than an HD master exists -- though I can't see this hitting BD anytime soon. I suspect that those MGM discs are proper 16:9 but have only been released in a few countries. Some Chuck fan here must have one!
