Member AlbertV Posted June 8, 2011 Member Share Posted June 8, 2011 Hey guys, I found an article in the June issue of Impact Magazine. Albert Pyun was interviewed about making his 1990 version of CAPTAIN AMERICA. He mentioned that he does have a director's cut which he is/or had already re-mastered and will be screening this month. The director's cut runs 124 minutes long and scenes involve Steve Rogers dealing with the issues that he was always a hero and not because of the "super soldier" serum and costume. A scene where he meets Col. Louis (the one who recruited Steve to become Cap) years later at a retirement home, and scenes involving the "brotherly" relationship between Cap and The Red Skull. Pyun and producer Tom Karnowski (who also joined forces on KICKBOXER 2) discussed how they had certain ideas that were nixed not by Menahem Golan, but Marvel themselves. According to Pyun, Marvel didn't really like Golan working on the film but since the option was about to expire, Golan gave Pyun the green light to shoot in the former Yugoslavia. Stan Lee on the other hand, was very supportive and was originally going to have a cameo in the film (a sort of trademark for today's Marvel films). This is a really good article...if you can find Impact Magazine, check out the article. Big ups to our good buddy Big Mike Leeder for the interview!!!
