While the bulk of this movie is a drama, there are some really nice fight scenes near the beginning and end.

i watched (and i own the dvd) the movie some months ago.. the movie is indeed a drama, i think if a person wants only action scenes he/she better not to watch this flick lol

Not the kind of film you should watch if you are in the mood for action - but it is a very good historical drama with some excellent acting and a great story.

I didn't really watch the trailer, but I think that sometimes, the trailers portray itself as an action pack film when it's not. Great example is Chen Zhen. The other thing is that people like to stereotype Asian films to be martial arts.

As for this film, it's not a martial arts film...would have been great if it was. The film alone, it's a fairly good film. The problem is that the characters are so retarded. It could have been a bigger film, but became retarded to a certain extent. I guess if you look at it from a realistic view, it's okay.
