Member sifu iron perm Posted March 11, 2011 Member Share Posted March 11, 2011 I have a copy of it somewhere..nothing great but added to my collection. I have only watched it once and remember wyclef (fugees) dubbed one of the characters. how did this happen? who owned the rights etc.. Member KenSakura Posted March 11, 2011 Member Share Posted March 11, 2011 Was it not part of the Kung Faux series (old school movies dubbed by hip hop artists)? If so then it should be available on dvd.

Member ShaOW!linDude Posted March 11, 2011 Member Share Posted March 11, 2011 I'm almost willing to bet it was part of the Kung Faux series, too. A potentially good idea but it just didn't come across as they were not funny. I don't know......maybe if I was still smoking weed at the time, they would've been. I doubt it though. Shoot, with weed an English dub was sufficient for riotous giggles and I don't even smoke that anymore (haven't in years) and still find humor in them. Member ironfistedmonk Posted March 19, 2011 Member Share Posted March 19, 2011 I remember seeing a re-dubbed Hot Cool and the Vicious on MTV with Pink doing the female leads voice and Tommy Lee's hunchback had a Welsh accent, it wasn't Kung Faux. Member ShaOW!linDude Posted March 19, 2011 Member Share Posted March 19, 2011 Were these full fledged movie re-dubs? I mean, they re-dubbed and showed the entire movie? The Kung Faux series were re-dubbed but edited down to either an hour or a half hour.
Member Cognoscente Posted June 12, 2021 Member Share Posted June 12, 2021 I remember this! Cerys Matthews dubbed Sister Koo, Tim Wheeler dubbed Long Wang, Tommy Scott dubbed Master Chow and Wyclef Jean dubbed Master Lee. My favourite guest was Kylie Minogue who, in an interview segment (for a short documentary about Kung Fu movies), quoted a flubtitle from Pedicab Driver: "You, fatty, with thick face have hurt my instep!"

Member DrNgor Posted October 9, 2021 Member Share Posted October 9, 2021 I remember the MTV Volcano High dub with a bunch of rappers doing the voices. There was also a program on MTV Brasil back around 2007 and 2008 where they would pare public domain films down to 30 minutes and give them irreverent, profanity-filled dubs. I know they did the second Ninja Death film and The Four Robbers.
