New York Daily News!

David S. Ward, the writer/director of the original MAJOR LEAGUE, is returning to write and direct a fourth installment of the baseball-themed film series. The original starred Tom Berenger, Corbin Bernsen, and Charlie Sheen as members of the Cleveland Indians.

Ward returned to helm MAJOR LEAGUE II, but was only credited for his characters in the third installment, MAJOR LEAGUE: BACK TO THE MINORS.

According to the link above, Bernsen is wanted back to return as Roger Dorn as is Dennis Haysbert's Pedro Cerrano, as they were the only 2 characters to be in all three of the previous films.

Ward also wants Charlie Sheen to return as Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn, only this time as a mentor to a new rookie fireball pitcher. This would bring the similarity that Berenger's veteran character of Jake went from player to mentor/manager in the second film.

Ward did say the script is complete, but the film is still in developmental phase.

Please don't let the young rookie fireball pitcher be Shia LaBeouf. Please don't let the young rookie fireball pitcher be Shia LaBeouf. I don't know... maybe it seems random, but there's something about what Yi Long wrote that was so funny- I couldn't stop laughing for a minute or so.
