I just recieved a movie from Shocking Videos called "Hard Man". Yeah, I know... The print came with no credits whatsoever so I doubt "Hard Man" was the original title. Here's the description that I copied from the site: HARD MAN (8?) Action-packed Asian fantasy flick with a difference. A young kung fu master with a crush on a beautiful manga artist learns that she's made him the antihero in her latest serial. He slips a cog and decides that if he acts out his character in real life she'll have to fall in love with him just like in the story. Bullets and bodies fly as he transforms himself into a stone cold hitman for the Chinese Mafia wiping out hundreds of underworld types, stopping only long enough to read each new issue of his sweetie's comic to see what he's supposed to do next! Very unique and recommended. Subtitled and letterboxed This is a pretty accurate description. I don't think I recognized anyone in the cast except maybe Alexander Lou as one of the bad guys and I'm not even certain it was him. He usually doesn't appear in one of these decent budgeted pics. My second thought was the 108 techniques manual from Goose Boxer... But the film was as cool as the description said it was and I really enjoyed it. Member Yakuza954 Posted January 25, 2011 Member Share Posted January 25, 2011 That IS the Taiwanese film hardman. decent film I guess, over does it with the wire-work, but the movie is supposed to be a live-action comic book fantasy anyway, so thats to be expected. Apparently, it is also known as Hardmen (just when I thought it couldn't get any worse) ! Good thing Shocking Videos had a plot description otherwise that's the kind of title that I'd avoid like the plague. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
