I believe she was married to Robert Lee for several years after Bruce passed away.

Member Fist of the Heavenly Sky Posted July 29, 2017 Member Share Posted July 29, 2017 The Little Dragon settles for a last meal before his impeding suicide mission. Not something that a "chivalrous hero" would do, but Cheng Chao-An is only a common man who just wanted to live peacefully, and even that simple wish was denied to him. When everything that you know and love... is taken from you so harshly... all you can think about is anger, hatred, and revenge... and even if Cheng were to successfully attain revenge, he would still have nothing left....no hope, no joy, his life has no meaning anymore, and he has have no one left to protect. His last trip to the whorehouse wasn't strictly for pleasure as others continue to believe. Cheng was heartbroken and lonely in the world..... he needed someone to save him from the darkness, someone to remind him of his humanity. We don't get to know much of anything about the red sweater lady, but for all we know she's in the same predicament as Cheng and understands and shares his pain, and there was probably actual dialogue between the two that only didn't make it due to "pacing." Lo Wei and Bruce Lee always intended on conveying a lot more with the brothel sequence than what was shown on screen, and it's a pity that only a few understand what they were actually trying to accomplish.

Bruce Lee's on-screen characters always acted shy/awkard around women, like he does in the first half of the Big Boss. Is it possible the Cheng Chao-An character, had never actually been with a woman?. On 29/07/2017 at 2:05 PM, shukocarl said: Thank god they don't! Is it possible the Cheng Chao-An character, had never actually been with a woman?. Personally, I don't think that was the case. Remember that, in the original print, Cheng hallucinated that all three chicks at the dinner were topless. There are other hints throughtout the movie that he was certainly no stranger to violence and sex. Cheng's intention was to "plant his dragon seed" inside of a woman, as he already made his mind he wanted to die/perish together with the villians. IMO, the shyness shown in the first half of BB was due to the original director (Wu Chia-Hsiang) envisioning Cheng Chao-An as nothing more than a secondary character. If Lo Wei had been on the helm at the very start, no doubt that among other things, Hsu Chien (James Tien) would've brought Cheng to hang out at the Thai whorehouse near the beginning of the movie!

True, being a Monk in the movie, means he could never make a move on her anyway. Edited August 3, 2017 by DragonClaws
