My top three would probably be...

Reign of Assassins

Tom Yum Goong

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

This is based solely on my first watching of each film. For examle, "Tom Yum Goong" blew my mind upon the first watch but has now lost its novelty. Other films I may love now but they took a while to grow on me...like "Fearless."

Guest Yi-Long

Not sure if it qualifies as 'martial arts' (pretty sure it doesn't actually), but Mongol also deserves a mention. Great biopic with stunning acting, sights and sounds.

We already did a read of our top martial-arts films of the decade last year/early this year. Maybe someone can dig it up?

My top martial-arts movies of this year would have to be...

Broken Path (which I included as part of my best of the last decade)

Bangkok Adrenaline

Merantau

And possibly Ong Bak 3 which I haven't seen yet.
