Member kungfusamurai Posted October 31, 2010 Member Share Posted October 31, 2010 It looks like this flick is also on youku. But this isn't a version I've seen before. Mandarin audio with chinese subs. Does that mean it's available somewhere in HK or mainland china on DVD? I've got the english dub version which I think was a pan media copy of the UK release. And the german DVD that is out of print didn't have chinese subs. http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTM4Mzc2ODU2.html KFS
Moderator Asmo Posted October 31, 2010 Moderator Share Posted October 31, 2010 It's most likely a TV recording, if it comes from the same person who uploaded the Shaw films.

I guess those subs were put on recently somewhere, because they're definitely not from back in the day. I found another film in widescreen, a Chi Kuan Chun film that Tai Seng released as one of their Ocean Shores DVDs years ago. I haven't got that, but I'm guessing it's full screen. This also has english subs! Moderator Asmo Posted November 1, 2010 Moderator Share Posted November 1, 2010 This is great. I wonder what else has been shown on Chinese tv, and recorded.
Member kungfusamurai Posted November 1, 2010 Author Member Share Posted November 1, 2010 It might not have been recorded off of TV, maybe it was uploaded directly by the company that has the print. I read Wikipedia's description of youku, and it seems there are some TV and production companies that directly upload stuff. I guess it would be the equivalent of Warner Brothers uploading Dirty Harry onto Youtube. KFS
