I'm going have to check out the BR2 Revenge edition now, it sounds good.

You should, even if you hated the Requiem version, I'd urge people to give the Revenge version a try. While it doesn't fix the whole American commentary that much, it does fix a lot of the other problems people seemed to of had with it. Me and Mike Jonas from the BR site he made have discussed it before on his forums years ago when it first came out and on IMDB, and he even tells people that if they do decide to check out the second movie to watch that version. I even got him to check out a lot of old Fukasaku films that he hadn't seen at the time. He even had me, at one point, be the go-to guy about BR video releases since I found many that he didn't even know about. LOL

"Due to the overwhelming number of pre-orders for the Blu-ray set, it has been increased to 10,000 units instead of 5,000. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up."

I found out about this a week ago when I just happen to be looking for martial arts or sonny chiba flicks in Europe (I wanted to test out if my new blu ray player could play Region Bs).

Sadly (or happily?) I was looking at this one, then I saw it was all-region, so I will have to look for another blu ray to test my player on.

Also, with three discs, I was half expecting #2 to be on there as a bonus. Oh well.

Glad to see that Arrow HAVEN'T put BR2 in the set. It's a steaming pile of shit.

Yeah, i officially call BR 2 "Battle Royale with cheese"

I haven't watched it in a while, so I don't know if it holds up on repeated viewing. I thought it was alright. I didn't think it was badly made, it just wasn't as good as the first.

But I figured it would be better as an extra on this set, rather than shelling out another chunk of change for it's own blu ray, if I decided to do that.

BR II is one of biggest letdowns of sequel history. And there are some bad ones out there.

I remember a soccer ball or something. WTF?

The soccer ball was like the watch in Chinatown Kid. It represented man's inhumanity to man as he lusts for power and money! ;D

You may as well buy the new UK SE dvd / Blu ray, they are region free and look like being the ultimate editions.

Not all of us have Blu-ray so that wouldn't be an option to me. Plus I have the original Tartan NTSC release but I want to see it in a theater and now I'll get to.

Its a dvd as well as blu ray release. But yes it would be great to see it on a big screen. Strange how it has taken so long to get a US release.
