@ Spannick,

just for the record : I did not call MAGIC BLADE just "Stahlfighter", I quoted the correct German title: "Der Todesschlag der Stahlfighter".

I'm also aware of this alternative title for CRAZY COUPLE (yes, not being Bavarian the joke is indeed lost on me!) but as I said, I could fill page after page with utterly repugnant examples of this kind.

Thanks for the info about Megamax, I wasn't aware of their demise...

What the "point" of my, ahem... "text rampage" is? Well, I may not have reached the level of cynicism, at least not quite, that you seem to display for this market. But regardless if anyone is able to "change a thing", aren't forums like this one not also there to air grievances and rant about everything one loves to hate? I at least thought so.

I'm not as stupidly naive to insinuate that companies lost money and went out of business because of a lack of "respect" for their line of work or the omission of an original audio track, hell no!

And yes, I'm fully aware that a lot of customers of these "Eastern" releases would never accept subtitled original audio versions (irrespective of good or bad Mandarin or Canto subs). Fortunately I can say from my somewhat cosseted Berlin perspective (where subbed HK movies were a matter of course in specialised video-shops and a lotta theatres since the early 90s) that I personally know a lot more than just one out of a dozen who would rather take bullshit subs than bullshit dubs. But to each his own. Pax.
