Member Ramji Posted July 18, 2010 Member Share Posted July 18, 2010 Hi all, just wondering if anyone has purchased Optimums Swordman II DVD? I'm looking to upgrade my old Mei Ah disc but noticed there's also a remasterd Mei Ah out there now too. Just wondering if the Optimum disc is any good as you can pick it up for about a fiver in HMV. Guest Markgway
I think it's the best there is.

Member JustinB Posted July 19, 2010 Member Share Posted July 19, 2010 The Optimum DVD is missing the orange colour filter (see here), but otherwise is very nice.
Guest Markgway
Looks much better without those filters.
Member Ramji Posted July 20, 2010 Author Member Share Posted July 20, 2010 Cheers for the feedback guys. Think I'll go with the optimum disc now. Was it released theatrically with those orange filters on the print?
Member dragonfist Posted July 20, 2010 Member Share Posted July 20, 2010 I got mine for a fiver at hmv too. Lovely print, you can't go wrong. Looks just as good as a DVD of a new blockbuster would.
Guest Yi-Long
This is the region 2 disc, right!? Think I'll order it from play.com... quite cheap there.
Member Ramji Posted July 21, 2010 Author Member Share Posted July 21, 2010 Haha, hard to believe hey? I would of thought the Remastered Mei Ah would have been the best although it does have a DTS track on it which the optimum doesn't. Saying that is Swordsman II the type of film to make use of a DTS soundtrack?? Got mine from Amazon yesterday for £3.48. Didn't check Play! Member Ramji Posted July 21, 2010 Author Member Share Posted July 21, 2010 It was originally mono. Yeah, that's what I would of thought for a film of that time. They must of done a 5.1 dts mix for the Mei ah remaster.
