Member urbankungfu Posted July 10, 2010 Member Share Posted July 10, 2010 Greetings fellow collectors - Recently I met with Ron Van Clief who happens to be heading to China soon to film a Kung Fu movie in 3D with non other than Conan Lee. Member bearpower Posted July 11, 2010 Member Share Posted July 11, 2010 Is that Enter Three Dragons VHS the one and the same as Enter Another Dragon? I don't know if there are same movie but here are the different titles I found Other titles were: The Lama Avengers (HK Title) Three Avengers (HK Title) The Dragon On Fire (Int. Title) Le Roi de Shaolin (French Title) Le Défi du Ninja (French Title)
Member MG Lerox Posted July 12, 2010 Member Share Posted July 12, 2010 I don't know if there are same movie but here are the different titles I found Other titles were: The Lama Avengers (HK Title) Three Avengers (HK Title) The Dragon On Fire (Int. Title) Le Roi de Shaolin (French Title) Le Défi du Ninja (French Title) Here are some different movies in these akas. The Lama Avengers also known as Three Avengers is movie that have nothing to do with Enter Another Dragon or Enter three Dragons. In that movie stars Bruce Li (Ho Chung Tao) and that is very good movie in my opinion, probably one of his best. There are two movies with Dragon On Fire aka: Enter three Dragons - Dragon Lee movie, co-starring Chang Yi-Tao, Bruce Thai, Bolo Yeung, Phillip Ko Fei, Tiger Yeung was re-titled as Dragon on Fire. The Dragon, The Hero - Movie stars John Liu, Dragon Lee and Phillip Ko Fei, this one was also released somewhere under the name Dragon on Fire. Now, during my talks with Ron Van Clief he often called movie Enter Another Dragon, Enter Three Dragons:ooh:? If we take a look at this poster: We can see that black guy is defenetly Ron "The Black Dragon" Van Clief, because guy from the poster doesnt look like black guy from Dragon Lee`s movie. Also white guy is 100% John Saxon who was suposed to act in Enter Another Dragon. Guy in the middle reminds me on the Bruce Le, and probably it is him, because he was considered to star in that film. I know that all this is little confusing, but i hope that we will settle this down.
Member odioustrident Posted July 12, 2010 Member Share Posted July 12, 2010 Looking at the cast list on your poster MG Lerox, it seems like some promotional art that might have been for Enter Another Dragon was used for Enter Three Dragons. That VHS on urbankungfu 's site may be using that art too. Here is a sampling of what Sun Video Corp., whose name I think is on that VHS, distributed. http://www.imdb.com/company/co0102496/ One can always hope though.... Moderator Karlos Posted July 12, 2010 Moderator Share Posted July 12, 2010 The whole Enter 3 Dragons/Enter Another Dragon issue has been the subject of other threads and I have to admit, I find it quite confusing!! From what I can make out from the little info out there, EAD was never made, but the promo art was and used for E3D – just as MG Lerox states. Member odioustrident Posted July 12, 2010 Member Share Posted July 12, 2010 That Sun Video Corp. distribution list on imdb has a few Ron Van Clief titles in it, so maybe they were capitalizing on this with what is clearly our man on the cover. So this is the video rental dionbrother was talking about in another thread?
Member MG Lerox Posted July 12, 2010 Member Share Posted July 12, 2010 I also think that they used some material from Enter Another Dragon for Enter Three Dragons, there is something more. Movie Enter Three Dragons (With Dragon Lee) was shot in 1978, and Enter Another Dragon began with making in 1981, 3 years later. This is original poster for Dragon Lee`s movie, original title is Dragon on Fire So my conclusion is: They shot Enter three Dragons in 1978, 3 years later Bruce Le, Ron and John Saxon were on the project for the Enter Another Dragon, and they made poster for that movie, but after plans for the movie felt in water, they just re-titled Enter Another Dragon poster to Enter Three Dragons, and launched Dragon Lee`s movie to the west under the name Enter Three Dragons. Member odioustrident Posted July 12, 2010 Member Share Posted July 12, 2010 That must be right Houndslow. I'm still curious to know who this "Jim Saxon" was in the Sun Video VHS described by dionbrother in your other thread on this. Hopefully urbankungfu can confirm our suspicions?
