Member Omni Dragon Posted May 8, 2010 Member Share Posted May 8, 2010 Crippled Avengers third time but first time in Mandarin shame the Mandarin is 4% faster or that what I read on one site but it does look faster & this was a little off putting for me after seeing in the English to me it made it a little less dramatic & more rushed. But anyway does anyone know why this has happened? Was it the English was slowed down? maybe to get words in? Celestial's remaster DVD was released faster? Or something else? Member OldPangYau Posted May 8, 2010 Member Share Posted May 8, 2010 Celestial's remaster DVD was released faster? Yes, all of the IVL DVDs, while technically NTSC, are created from PAL-speed masters. This being said, the IVL versions of the movies run 4% faster than they normally would at "film speed". Basically they didn't properly convert the frame rate when changing from one video signal to another. Fortunately, Media Blasters/Tokyo Shock and Dragon Dynasty (DVDs, at least) create their SB DVDs at proper film speeds at 24 frames per second. DD owns the rights to Crippled Avengers, so hopefully that'll see a release soon... in Mandarin AND at its proper film speed!
