Member chanbara Posted April 17, 2010 Member Share Posted April 17, 2010 I can't say I recognize any of them, but here's a snapshot of REIKO KASAHARA (笠原玲子) from the 3rd episode of the TV series OSHI ZAMURAI KIICHI HOGAN (The Mute Samurai) starring TOMISABURO WAKAYAMA: By the way, she's also listed in the cast of the first 2 KOZURE OKAMI (Lone Wolf and Cub) movies. Also, there's a picture of YUKO MINAKAZE (南風夕子) up for sale on Yahoo Auctions Japan: http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m74576673#enlargeimg Hope this helps. Guest Markgway
Reiko Kasahara is fourth billed in TIGER so she must be one of the mains. The only prominant actresses unidentified are shown above. Can't mach anyone from that photograph, which looks like it was taken in 1920. Thanks anyways.
Member mpm74 Posted June 2, 2010 Member Share Posted June 2, 2010 Are these screen shots form the VCD or DVD?
Guest Markgway
VCD, I think.
Member mpm74 Posted June 4, 2010 Member Share Posted June 4, 2010 Thanks. Got my DVD on the way. Looking forward to it. I just hope it has the opening with the girl singing. I prefer it over that other opening. (I'm still confused with the different openings) Did something get cut for U.S. release?
Guest Markgway
The VCD has the opening with the Japanese girl (Kawai Okada) singing in the club.
Member mpm74 Posted June 4, 2010 Member Share Posted June 4, 2010 No Japanese girl singing on my DVD copy. So does this mean that the VCD copy is missing the opening fight? Or was the girl singing just cut from the DVD.
Guest Markgway
Probably the latter.
Member kungfusamurai Posted June 12, 2010 Member Share Posted June 12, 2010 I plugged in Reiko's name in yahoo, and came up with the images below. She looks like the first lady in your screenshots. That's all I could come up with. The faces don't look familiar from all the Chiba, Katsu Shintaro stuff I've seen. I'll have to check out that Wang Yu movie. The intro scene below isn't on the DVD version of the film? For a Japanese actress, she does a great job singing (or lip syncing) in Mandarin! h54-J18UP7o KFS
Member mpm74 Posted June 12, 2010 Member Share Posted June 12, 2010 Yes, the singing intro IS on the FS/JS DVD release. I just popped it in and saw for myself. =D That made me happy.
Guest Markgway
The girl singing in that opening credits clip is Kawai Okada (see my first post). She was a Japanese pop star. I don't know the others.
